Having visited over 170 colleges and universities, learning about each college's unique qualities offers an invaluable resource in the admissions process.
We encourage families to make college visits starting in high school, yet for most students and families there are limitations due of time and finances.
The College Consortium offers the value of having visited many institutions, understanding the qualities of campuses, the academic programs, the students, the dormitories, the surrounding college community and the overall feel of the campus which can assist the student and family understand a college's profile
when building a college list.
Current information and trends gleaned by attending information sessions, touring the campuses, meeting with admissions offices as well as observing the type of students who currently attend each college helps create a more accurate image of a university that may not be apparent on a website.
The campus layout, the proximity to a metropolitan area and the role that each college holds currently and historically in the community is unique to each institution and may be important to a student when considering college options.
During the assessment meeting with students, we can determine what factors are of greatest importance to students and, together with their academic record and future academic interests, collectively put together a tailored
list of colleges that will be a good fit for the student.
